The cost of a new website is based off of the type of features that are involved in the project. Websites range from basic to custom designs. That does not mean you have to spend thousands of dollars to create an effective website. Generally, the cost of a basic informative website should be less than a thousand dollars. Additional features include logo design, custom graphics, flash animations, programming and content writing. There are also some yearly expenses including domain renewals, SSL certificate (shopping carts only) and web hosting (monthly or yearly).
For a standard website, web hosting costs $15.00 per month. There do have cheaper services like GoDaddy. They charge $5.00 per month for web hosting on a shared server. Your website could be sharing a server with 100′s of other websites. This decreases server performance and their servers tend to be slow.
It takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks to build a standard website. Graphics usually take the longest so the time frame greatly depends on how many custom graphics are being designed for the website.
